A juried art exhibit for adults, juniors and youth will be a featured event of the 31st annual Boones Mill Apple Festival to be held on Saturday, September 20, 2008. The Art Show will be held at the Lions Club Building on Easy Street in Boones Mill. The Art Show is sponsored by BB&T.
Lion Frances Murray will serve as chairperson, and Artist Ken McCreedy will judge the exhibit.
Artists may enter two-dimensional works of paintings, drawings, photographs and mixed media. Each artist may submit a maximum of three works and all entries must be framed and ready for hanging.
Entry fees for the art exhibit will be $5.00 for adult professionals, $5.00 for adult amateurs, $2.00 for emerging junior artists (ages 13-18), and $1.00 for youth (ages 6-12). First, second, and third place awards plus honorable mention will be given in each category.
Entries should be submitted at the Lions Building between the hours of 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2008. The art work will be on display throughout the day of the festival and may be picked up between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. at the Lions Building, or on Monday, September 22th, at BB&T in Boones Mill during regular banking hours.
